Cyberpunk 2077, the futuristic RPG from The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt RED, is still in development, but we might hear some updates soon. The game’s official Twitter account, inactive since December 2013, has posted a vague single-word message.

While the message is only the word “beep,” it shows CD Projekt RED is ready to start talking about Cyberpunk 2077 again. Though the studio announced the game way back in 2012, we still don’t know much about it, with CD Projekt RED instead focusing on The Witcher 3 and its different DLC releases, as well as Gwent, the Witcher spin-off card game.

Here’s what we do know about Cyberpunk 2077: the game will be set in a fictional city called Night City. It will be open world, and can be played in either the first or third-person perspective. Language will be a major focus of the gameplay, with different characters speaking in different dialects. Players will be able to find translator implants to better understand others, with higher-end translators offering more precise translations and access to a wider range of languages.

Of course, these reports come from when Cyberpunk 2077 was looking at a 2015 release. That obviously didn’t happen, so it’s possible gameplay has altered since the developers last talked about the project.

So when will Cyberpunk 2077 release? That’s a huge question, but reports from a grant proposal indicate a release in 2019. As noted by GameZone, the Polish government granted CD Projekt RED $7 million to work on Cyberpunk 2077, and the developer noted in the documents the project will run until June 2019.

This timing makes sense for the Twitter account to start sending out messages again. If Cyberpunk 2077 is coming next year, getting fans hyped now would be a smart move. This would lead into the big shows like E3 or Gamescom this summer, where a proper re-reveal can happen, and a release date or release window can be announced.

So what do you think? Are you excited to learn more about Cyberpunk 2077? Do you think we’ll see a new trailer at this year’s E3? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
