Dark Gravity revealed that it is set to make its official debut on the PC in the fourth quarter of 2020. The game draws inspiration from Japanese shooters in the likes of Ikaruga and Radiant Silvergun. Players can expect a high level of difficulty along with many crafting possibilities and unique low poly graphics.
Dark Gravity is being developed by Korgorus and will be published by Ultimate Games S.A. According to Korgorus, players can expect the game to be an intense shoot-em-up that focuses on single-player gameplay. There's also going to be a nonlinear campaign mode where players face off against large amounts of enemies and bosses. Dark Gravity is set in a futuristic reality just after World War 5. Players take on the role of a pilot whose fate is thrown into a whirlwind of events.
Main features of Dark Gravity include:
- Quick and intense gameplay
- Nonlinear campaign, intriguing history
- Stylish, low poly graphics
- 3 different difficulty levels
- Crafting and expansion of fighter jets
- 34 bosses
- 17 highly-diversified missions
- 8 fighter jets
- An additional mode of survival
Korgorus studio Rafal Szewczyk shared in a statement that the game is inspired by the many classic Japanese shooters released years ago. As already mentioned, these include Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga. Developed by Treasure, Radiant Silvergun was released in 1998. The game had players choose from an arsenal of different weapons and offered scenarios that can be approached differently with the different weapon types. Ikaruga was a sequel to Radiant Silvergun, and was released in 2001.
Szewczyk went on to say that Dark Gravity has "unique features that will make this title stand out from other productions" and added that the game isn't "only about stylized low poly graphics but an intriguing story and the large possibilities of crafting and expanding the fighter jets.” He also revealed that the difficulty level will have a significant impact on gameplay and Dark Gravity at the highest difficulty level is going to be different from the normal level. He also said that the "higher the level, the more the challenges, new enemies, new bosses and additional secrets. "
While Dark Gravity is going to be released for the PC, a later version is expected for the Nintendo Switch and other consoles.
