The expanded version of Death Stranding titled Director’s Cut might be getting a PC release. The DC edition was released exclusively on PlayStation 5 back in September 2021. Since then, we didn’t hear any word about the PC version, but that has changed today.
The Leaked Report
A recent leak claims that the PC version of Death Stranding Director’s Cut is in fact real and coming soon. A leaked Intel report that was talking about Xe Super Sampling (XeSS) mentioned that the DS Director’s Cut will support the new technology. Intel’s XeSS is similar to Nvidia’s DLSS and AMD’s FSR, which means a massive FPS boost for little fidelity loss.
While we do understand that this is not an official announcement, this leak seems very real. DS Director’s Cut was also mentioned in the massive Nvidia leak that took place last year. The said leak has been accurate multiple times now.
Possible Release Date
The Nvidia leak revealed that the Director’s Cut will be released on PC in March 2022. However, things could change thanks to the pandemic. Many video games have been getting delayed recently due to various arrangements.
What Comes With Director’s Cut
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is not just a feature update. It comes with a lot of extra content including new missions, better combat, a race track, a firing range, new gadgets, and better visuals.
Upgrade Option
PS5 players had the option to upgrade the base game to DC for only $10. We don’t know if PC players will have the same option.
Possible Sequel
Death Stranding was a unique game that we don’t normally see in the industry. Most people including me thought that it would be a one-off title. It seems I was wrong.
Norman Reedus, the protagonist of the game, has hinted at a sequel. However, we don’t have an actual confirmation just yet.
