On Grey’s Anatomy Season 13 episode 14 (which airs at 8 p.m. EST), Meredith and Bailey are trying to come to an agreement to allow Meredith to return as chief of general surgery. Meredith has been on suspension since episode 13, for defending Dr. Webber after Bailey hired a new doctor to take over his position as the head of the hospital’s residency program.
Dr. Kepner has stepped in as the interim chief of general surgery in Meredith’s absence, which has also not been received well by many of the surgery staff.
A sneak peek shows Meredith and Bailey discussing her future at the hospital. Bailey believes Meredith should have supported her decision to replace Dr. Webber, regardless of her personal feelings. Meredith believes Bailey should have taken staff resistance to the change under consideration.

Meanwhile, Arizona and Dr. Eliza Minnick have become friendly amid the tension at the hospital. A sneak peek shows the two discussing a restaurant Arizona recommended to Eliza. However, no one knows the two are friends, so they pretend to discuss work in the presence of their colleagues. Arizona also remains conflicted over whether she should be friends with Eliza. The two have also been flirting, but Dr. Webber is a good friend of Arizona’s.
