Playdom announced Hellcat won’t be the reward hero for PVP Season 27 in Avengers Alliance and was being replaced by Kraven the Hunter and the Lizard as a lockbox hero this week. Surprisingly, that update has come to the popular Facebook game today.
While many agents are still in the early stages of the latest Spec Ops featuring the Red She-Hulk , the latest PVP season will test the mettle of Agents in the Avengers Alliance meta game.
So what can you expect from the upcoming heroes for Avengers Alliance? Let’s dive right in as we have two characters to cover but if you want to see the other rewards for PVP Season 27 and the various bug fixes and balances, check out the official Patch notes.
Kraven is a tactician and has a few passives. The first is The Hunter, which reduces damage from attackers with poisoned and bleeding effects. This also preemptively counters bleeding enemies and follows-up on single-target attacks on poisoned enemies.
The second passive is the Sinister Six passive that gives other members of the Sinister Six gain Targeted on single-target attacks.
I am the Hunter is Kraven’s first action and has hemorrhaging attack and contagion, which causes poisoned to nearby enemies with bleeding, slowed to poisoned targets and dizzy to targets with slowed.
The Most Dangerous Game applies Poisoned, Ravaged and two stacks of Bleeding.
Be Prepared is a multi-function that lets Kraven set three different types of traps. The first is Bear Trap, which triggers after a melee attack applying enfeebled and disabled.
Net Trap triggers after a ranged attack, applying woozy and disabled.
Poison Mist Trap triggers after any attack and removes beneficial and harmful effects of an enemy’s buff or debuff action. It also applies torpid and disabled.
Kraven’s final attack is A Hunter’s Thirst and is a self buff that gives Kraven Mystical Concoction allowing the hero’s next single-target attack to exploit bleeds and poison. It also grants Super Heroic, which greatly increases damage dealt and reduces damage taken.
Unlike lockbox heroes in Spec Ops, the PVP Season lockboxes are harder to come by and are more luck-based. You’ll gain your five lockboxes for the first five wins in PVP each day. Other than that you’ll have to depend on the PVP roulette and the weekly challenges that grant a bunch of lockboxes.
Here are the three weekly lockbox challenges:
Task 1: January 29th - February 5th
Fight 15 PVP Battles
Reward: 30 Reptilian Lockboxes
Task 2 : February 6th - February 13th
Fight 20 PVP Battles
Reward: 30 Reptilian Lockboxes
Task 3 : February 14th - February 22nd
Fight 25 PVP Battles
Reward: 40 Reptilian Lockboxes
Curt Connors AKA The Lizard is the lockbox hero for this PVP season and is also a tactician class hero that becomes a scrapper when “Lizard Brain” is active.
The Lizard’s passives include Cold Blooded, which lets Lizard gain Blood Runs Cold each round. Connors in Control is active when Lizard is a tactician and all his attacks apply Disadvantage.
Lizard DNA gives Reptilian Regeneration each round, which heals Lizard. And his Sinister Six passive gives Regenerative Serum to other Sinister Six members.
Septic Bite is the Lizard’s first action and has high crits, malignant poison, open wound and disadvantage.
Conduct Experiment a self buff that removes debuffs, grants experimental treatment but also has a 10 percent chance to cause a slew of side effects. This also makes Lizard a scrapper and makes him immune to psychic attacks.
Tail Swipe is the third action and applies Hobbled and Fumbling.
Rending Slash has deadly crits, exploit opportunity, exploits bleeds, exploits poison, hemorrhaging attack and applies off-balance, cornered and exhausted.
