Konami just released version 2.0 for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 which aims to address various issues the game is suffering from.

Despite the hype for the collection, it failed to live up to the promise it made to fans of the beloved franchise. After it launched in August last year, many players found that it was missing features, frustrating bugs, and lacked upgrades across certain platforms.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 Update

All of these made it feel like an underperforming port of all-time classic titles. Now, the developer is trying to make good on its commitment.

The latest version 2.0 update improves a lot of things for the collection. But for now, only PC players have access to the recent patch.

The update comes alongside a trading card and badge for the Metal Gear collection on Steam. The new patch's release on other platforms will follow at a later date awaiting Konami's announcement, according to Kotaku.

One thing that the new update adds is for Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. This is the ability to customize the resolution in the settings menu. It also adds new optional upscaling techniques that can improve the sharpness of the game at various points.

Furthermore, players have the option to swap the in-game movies from a clearer image from the original look and vice versa. On the other hand, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater also benefits from the new update with new settings options.

After the version 2.0 update, Konami might turn its focus to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.

The developer has not yet confirmed what could be included in the next collection. However, many fans expect it to feature the highly sought-after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, IGN said.

Addressing Various Issues

Konami also released the patch notes for the latest update to Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. Another feature that was added was new controller settings that let players customize it how they want to.

There are also new keyboard and mouse settings that provide options for various layouts. The first is the layout that has been used up to version 1.5.1. The second is a new layout that you can select following the 2.0 update.

The latest patch also gives you the option to make a custom layout that you can freely customize to your liking. You should be wary as if there are overlapping controls, some actions may not function properly, according to ComicBook.
