Nintendo’s journey into the mobile gaming market begins with Miitomo, the mobile app that acts a social network using your created Mii characters.
And now, Nintendo has outlined its launch plans for its Miitomo mobile app . Starting Feb.17, fans can pre-register for Miitomo by signing up for the new Nintendo Account service using their existing email, social media accounts or current Nintendo Network IDs.
“ Miitomo is a uniquely entertaining mobile experience that only Nintendo can deliver,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing in a statement. “Featuring Mii characters, users will be able to interact with their friends in an entirely new way that transforms communication into a form of play.”
Launching alongside Miitomo is the brand new Nintendo rewards program called My Nintendo.
The successor to Club Nintendo, My Nintendo was announced alongside Miitomo during Nintendo’s October 2015 investor’s meeting. The publisher looks to be a more comprehensive service that rewards users for interacting with Nintendo products and services in a variety of ways. Miitomo and My Nintendo will work in conjunction with each other and players can take advantage of My Nintendo to enhance their experience.
Nintendo plans to launch five mobile apps, including Miitomo, by the end of March 2017.
