The North American League matches between DarkZero and Spacestation Gaming have concluded. The matches were played in a best of three series.
The first map of the series was Coastline, which is a frag-heavy map. DarkZero looked very strong on the attacking side, where DZ was able to cut off rotations of the roamers. However, on Round 3, SSG showed an impressive Kitchen strategy that they extended into Penthouse. DZ tried to counter it by pushing into VIP, but it didn’t work as SSG from the site were shooting from the bottom to the first floor. SSG managed to win the third round without dropping a single body, which is impressive considering DZ’s fragging capability. Yet the first half ended with DZ taking a 4-2 lead.
DZ on the defense was unstoppable with their aggressive playstyle. DZ won the first map with Tyler "Ecl9pse" McMullin on 13 kills playing operators like Nomad and Melusi.
The second map played was Clubhouse and an easy win for SSG as they are well versed with the map. SSG won the Clubhouse match with a 7-3 scoreline.
The final map was Oregon. It was surprising to see Troy "Canadian" Jaroslawski play Ash on multiple rounds for SSG because he is considered to be the best flex/support player. Though he never managed to make plays or create an impact with Ash, which made it harder for SSG due to the lack of support main. DZ won the final map with a 7-4 scoreline with Paul "Hyper" Kontopanagiotis on 13 kills.
