It is a known fact of life that our bodies gradually slow down as we age. However, one Apex Legends streamer defied all odds by attaining the second-highest rank in the game, and he's 57 years old!
Apex Legends is a fast-paced hero shooter developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by EA. This game requires you to have a considerably good aim to land those headshots, as well as fast reflexes to dodge hits and attacks from all angles.
That said, a 57-year-old streamer who goes by the name Duncanas recently posted on Reddit a video of him reaching the Master rank in Apex Legends. For those who don't know, Master is the second-highest rank in the game next to Apex Predator.
As you can see in the video, his aim was so impressive that he eliminated his enemies convincingly. Sure, his movement could be improved, but he didn't need to move around much since his aim was enough to destroy the competition.
Unsurprisingly, a lot of Redditors are impressed with what he has achieved. One Redditor said that they aspire to be like Duncanas who still loves gaming at age 57. Another user chimed in that although they're now better at making strategic plays as they got older, their aim leaves much to be desired.
Most of the replies from his Reddit thread share a common theme: our reflexes deteriorate as we get older. But that is what makes Duncanas' feat even more impressive. He attained a rank in the game that players of his age can only dream of.
Who is Duncanas?
Duncan "Duncanas" McLeod is a 57-year-old game director for a company called Netvrk. Netvrk is a metaverse built on the blockchain that uses a play-to-earn model, where you can earn NFTs just by engaging with the platform.
When he's not working, he plays and streams Apex Legends regularly on Twitch. He only has 7,500+ followers on the platform at the time of writing, but with his impressive plays, he'll likely get more.
So, what is he up to now? It looks like Duncanas is not satisfied with his current standing, so he is pushing to reach the highest rank in the game. If he pulls that off, he will be the oldest gamer to attain Apex Predator since the game was launched in 2019.
Now, if there is one lesson to be learned from Duncanas' recent achievement, it is that age is truly just a number.
Apex Legends is available on PC.
