The first official Suicide Squad movie trailer released Tuesday inspiring numerous cosplay artists to show off their skills at imitating Jared Leto’s new Joker interpretation. While the Joker and Harley Quinn have long been dominant characters amongst cosplayers, interest in them is soaring as fans of the DC Comics series prepare for Suicide Squad’s August release.
Soon after the trailer released, photos of cosplayers donning Joker makeup, tattoos and costume began appearing on Instagram. We have to admit: some of them are pretty swell renditions.
One cosplayer who is getting a lot of positive feedback on social media for his Joker is KeyOfJay.And looking at the photos you can see why. The cosplayer shared on Instagram that while his sister sometimes helps with his makeup, he often does it himself.
“ I like to just jump in and figure things out myself,” KeyOfJay said.
Both KeyOfJay and his sister heidimatrix – who does a pretty stellar Harley Quinn herself -- enjoy doing cosplay and makeup. The pair also enjoy teaming up to make cosplay, music and parody videos.
