The Pokémon Company dropped some big news that’s sure to make fans around the world happy. There’s going to be not one, not two, but three new games. All of these are coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are set to be released later this year. Meanwhile, Pokémon Legends: Arceus is expected to launch sometime in early 2022.
It was back in 2006 when Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl introduced the Sinnoh region, while Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl served as remakes. Pokémon Legends: Arceus also brings players to the Sinnoh region but with a twist. That’s because it’s the time before trainers and leagues were in the region.
Pokémon Company President and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said in a press statement that with these new games, players would be able to create new memories in the Sinnoh region.
Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
These two new games hope to allow fans to experience the original games on which they’re based while offering new features. In these games, players get to choose either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup, as their starting Pokémon before they go on their journey. Along the way, they get to meet Legendary Pokémon like Dialga for Brilliant Diamond and Palkia for Shining Pearl.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Pokémon games have always been about exploring, catching Pokémon, and completing the Pokédex. For Legends: Arceus, the goal is to honor the core gameplay of the series while introducing new action and RPG elements. Overall, this new game offers a more immersive experience.
Since this is the Sinnoh region of the past, it’s sure to be an exciting experience for everyone. In the game, Trainers get to choose from among Rowlet, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott, as their starting Pokémon.
