'Until Dawn' Remake Developer Reportedly Shut Down

A new report shared by GameRant says that Ballistic Moon has been "effectively" shut down. Much of its employees are already reported to be out of their jobs.

Despite its successful release of the "Until Dawn" remake, the company had already run into some problems last year. The report shares that when Ballistic Moon released the game's remake, its first round of layoffs already happened.

The shutdown has yet to be made official, as of press time, but reports have claimed that Ballistic Moon has been internally crumbling in the past couple of months.

What Will Happen to 'Until Dawn's' Rumored Sequel?

The "Until Dawn" remake came as a massive surprise to many, and many were also surprised to learn that Ballistic Moon was named as the developer instead of the game's original creators, Supermassive Games.

The game's modern remake also marked the first development under Ballistic Moon, which was a fairly new name in the industry.

With its reported shutdown, there are concerns as to what will happen to the game's rumored sequel that has been floated around before by none other than "Until Dawn's" Peter Stormare, who is also set to appear on its live action movie adaptation. Previously, Stormare teased the possibility of an "Until Dawn" sequel game on Instagram.

As of writing, there are still no official confirmation about the game's sequel. Should plans for the sequel actually exist, there may be a possibility that Supermassive Games may end up working on it as well.
