Waves of Steel is finally out of early access and now officially launched. Version 1.0 of this build-your-own-battleship arcade naval combat sim offers new content and new combat gameplay. It's now available on PC.
The game is on Steam with an introductory offer of 25% off until February 14. Those looking for something more can get the bundle which has the game and official soundtrack. Right now, the bundle is also being offered at a discount.
If that doesn’t excite you, another reason to get the game is its system requirements, with the minimum as follows:
- OS: Windows 7
- Processor: Intel i7 3.0 GHz
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: GTX 770
- Storage: 1 GB available space
Complete Campaign
For v1.0, one of the features is the single-player campaign where players can now take on the final seven of the 33 missions available in the story. Get the chance to face new threats like ships which can transform into Gundam-inspired mechs; there's also "The Biggest Gun." To survive, don't forget to equip ships with cutting-edge weapons like plasma torpedoes and railguns and experiment with special abilities.
A Passion Project
In a statement, TMA Games Founder Chris Weisiger revealed that he had spent almost four years making the game that he always wanted to play when he was a kid. He went on to say that along the way, he made sure of every little detail he could think of, including minigames, bonus missions, and other extra content.
More New Content
In addition to the single-player campaign, there are also two new bonus missions added. Players can also look forward to eight more ships along with more than 60 more parts to be unlocked.
The game also has some extensive accessibility options:
- Being able to customize controls
- Setting any or all weapons to autofire
- Changing the HUD’s colors
- Tweaking the game’s speed
Other new content added to the game:
- Several new achievements.
- VLS variants of anti-ship missile weapons
- Drifter II special
- Destroyer-sized variant of the Sawblade weapon
