The Welcome to Toon World event in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links has returned, giving players a second chance to unlock Pegasus and get many of his Toon cards.

There are also some new Toon monsters like Buster Blader and Dark Magician Girl but another addition to the returning event is the ability to duel Pegasus at Level 50 where he uses a brand new deck.

Pegasus appears in the Duel World after you have defeated the duelist at Level 40 in the Duel Gate (he appeared to us after reaching 380,000 points) at different random levels. He’ll mostly appear at Level 30 or 40, but there are some times that he will appear at Level 50.

Your Duel Scores after facing off against Pegasus at Level 50 will net a x20 multiplier, but his deck is much tougher. So how do you defeat this stronger Pegasus?

RELINQUISHED DECK

Well, first off Pegasus does not use a Toon World deck; it’s actually focused on summoning Relinquished, the very powerful Ritual monster. He will use the Balance ability, which will more likely than not give him the ritual spell card to summon Relinquish in his opening hand. Not only that, but his deck is filled with powerful four-star monsters to keep you on the ropes until he can summon Relinquished.

Pegasus’ Relinquished deck includes cards like Breaker the Magical Warrior, Toon Gemini Elf, Copycat as well as the Ritual Djinn cards to power up Relinquished. He also has the powerful trap card, Eliminating the League that can destroy monsters simply by discarding a spell card.

HOW TO FIGHT BACK

To defeat Pegasus at Level 50, you’ll need to match the power of his four-star monsters. Bringing some of the stronger four-star monsters like Dunames Dark Witch and Jerry Beans Man will help.

You’ll also need to bring plenty of spells and traps that will increase your monster’s attack or decrease your opponent’s. Traps like Michizure and Mirror Wall will help keep your monsters safe while clearing your opponent’s field. That’s the most important tactic to defeating Pegasus: swarm the field and take his lifepoints down before he can summon Relinquished.

Personally, using cards that discard from Pegasus’ hand or deck are my favorite; even without any monsters on the field he can still summon Relinquished using the cards in his hand. The trap card Secrets of the Gallant work well with the stronger normal monsters that you’ll use, like Jerry Beans Man and Warrior Dai Grepher. It also discards two cards from Pegasus’ hand.

However, it may take some time to set up your strategy of discarding Pegasus’ hand so you’re probably better off going to most offensive route and swarm the field before Pegasus can react.
