Ghost Rider rose hell on the streets of Los Angeles in Agents of SHIELD Season 4, but after the events of the first two episodes it seems Robbie Reyes is getting closer to a certain Inhuman.

At the end of Episode 2, Robbie Reyes finally listens to Daisy Johnson and connects the dots between the gangs of Los Angeles and the supernatural (or metaphysical?) happenings. He drove up to her in his Charger and asked for her to join him to try and figure out what is going on. And that’s what Daisy has done.

Speaking at a press roundtable at New York Comic Con Gabriel Luna, the man behind the flaming skull, was asked about the interactions he may have this upcoming season with the cast of SHIELD.

“It’s a big family show and Chloe has been great. I don’t know where the story is going, we are still shooting,” Luna said. “A lot of people want it to be a romantic thing, she doesn’t have a lot of luck with that. In fact a lot of her boyfriends die but thankfully I’m immortal.”

Fans of SHIELD know that Daisy has not had the best luck when it comes to men in her life, a fact that Luna knows all too well and was being being a little tongue-in-cheek with the fan-predictions when talking with us. However, the two characters have an interesting connection in the comics and the possibility of Robbie Reyes’ Ghost Rider origins lining up with the comics could make for an interesting return for the show.

“But there’s this almost sibling thing that is being built between she and I. In the books my origin, I become a ghost rider through some evil dealing with Mr. Hyde. Who is also Daisy Johnson’s father in the comic book world and in the SHIELD world,” Luna said. “So the fact that we are both kind of derivatives of Mister Hyde is a cool thing to where you can almost see that it’s a sibling relationship.”

For those unfamiliar with the comics, Robbie Reyes does not get the Ghost Rider powers from dealings with Mephisto or any other devilish characters. Instead, there’s a ghost named Eli Morrow who possesses Robbie’s Charger. After being gunned down by a Los Angeles gang, Reyes’ body was taken over by the ghost of Eli and becomes the new Ghost Rider.

Reyes was gunned down because the pills that gives Mister Hyde his powers were in the trunk of his car. After being saved by the ghost of Eli Morrow, Robbie goes to war with Hyde. He fights to bring down the villains drug distribution empire in Los Angeles.

The last SHIELD viewers saw Mister Hyde (played by Kyle MacLachlan) his memories were erased and he opened up his own veterinary office at the end of Season 2.

Could Ghost Rider’s appearance bring MacLachlan and the Mister Hyde character back to SHIELD ? We will have to wait and see.
