Chandelure is the latest addition to Pokken Tournament and Bandai Namco has finally released a gameplay trailer showing off the ghost/fire type in battle.

The Chandelure Pokken Tournament trailer was shown at the Game Party Event in Japan and will be available in Japanese arcades on Feb. 9. The new trailer shows the unconventional fighting style of this furniture Pokémon and how it can bring your opponent to its knees. Check out the Chandelure gameplay trailer below.

Bandai Namco has captured the whimsy of what makes Chandelure so appealing, and what came as a surprise to us is how his fighting style is different from how a Chandelure normally would battle.

Chandelure is a special attacking beast in the Pokémon world but Pokken Tournament actually makes use of Chandelure’s many arms to beat down its opponent. It can even spin itself like a drill to make use of the point on its underside.

From the looks of the trailer, Chandelure can even charge up and perform a move that looks similar to Flame Wheel.

But that’s not to say Chandelure won’t have projectiles, in fact Chandelure will have a will o wisp attack that can give great coverage as you prevent your opponent from getting to close and if your opponent is about to launch a ranged attack, Chandelure can avoid it in a number of ways.

Chandelure can phase through projectiles but it will likely need precise timing. The ghost type Pokémon will also be able to swing in the air like it’s an actual chandelier before dropping down to continue the fight.

And we can’t forget Chandelure’s burst attack that seemingly puts the opponent to sleep before attacking it. Looks like a Dream Eater or Nightmare attack.

Pokken Tournament for the Wii U will release in North America on March 18.
